World Single Lift Championships 2008, Antwerp

On the 11th and 12th of October,I competed in two disciplines of the Drug Free Single Lift World Championships 2008, held in Antwerp, Belgium. I competed in my usual two events, the push and pull (the Bench Press and the Deadlift).
The first day was the Bench Press, Here I broke my own World record and went on to win my category and overall best Junior, this lift was also heavier than the Senior Category which I will be competing in next year! My last lift of the three however was claimed a ‘no lift’ as the spotter caught the bar on the positive part of the rep,-this again, had it been given would have broken my record further!

On the 12th came the Deadlift, and here again my later lifts were given ‘no lift’ as my body was shaking during the rep, therefore it was my opening lift that gave me first place Junior and 1st place overall for bodyweight of all categories.

A good result overall, ..I achieved what I intended, and proved what I set out to…..that you don’t have to be overweight and out of shape to be strong and to compete with specialist powerlifters!!

(I would however, liked to have lifted more,-or at least those that I have been nailing in training!!)

NPA British.

NPA British and bodyindesign.

Hi Guys.

What an ace day we had at the NPA British—love the new venue—loved the whole weekend.

Here is how we did and my little report.

The figure —11 girls all looked awesome—must have been a headache for the judges.

Out of the top six.

Claire—what a dark horse and what potential–mega stage presence –only trained a few months for this —What will next year bring?

Gwen–trained Gwen since January—she looked bang on—in her first year on stage–2nd and a first in early shows—then on to the finals, she did well.

Kath–again she has had a great first year–love this girl, each time out she improves and loves to be on stage.

Louise—hard to believe how Lou’ looks now to what she use to be.

So much has changed with her I would not know how to start telling you.

The top six–I will tell you about all the girls.

6th–Flick—great on stage–good all round.

5th Our own Danelle–mega shape –and tight all over–did herself and me proud.

4th Claire Harper—Claire is great, she is in a roundabout way in our group as she is friends with all of our guys.

Great shape–fantastic routine, we love her.

3rd–Our own Heather–looked just spot on –a close one–routine was also spot on.

Her body just jumps out at you on stage –classic shape.

2nd–Our own again–Caroline–improved so much this year — She did not look like the same girl that came 3rd in the Yorkshire.

She was ripped and had a superb shape—well done girl–a star in the making.

1st Kristelle –Good all round –shape–fair condition–skin tone was awesome.

Well done girl–you looked fantastic.

The guys won –Richard Lee (novice) –was from another planet—Delroy Galloway (midleweights) had improved so much from his last show–condition–and confidence.

Well done to the both of you.

All in all a great day—well done to everyone from bodyindesign and from around the country—Enjoy your eating.
Then set to improving on YOU.

Love you all Ian.

Train, Eat, Sleep.

How many people do you know that have a balance of hard training, excellent nutrition and ample rest? Not many I would imagine.
It is impossible to gain a superb physique, and keep it for any length of time without all 3 pieces of the jigsaw being in place. Sure, some people seem to have a 6 pack or a big pair of arms without seeming to try but the full package is hard to come by.
My philosophy is that you should train on more days than you rest i.e. 4 days per week training at least, 1-3 days resting. You should eat 5-7 meals per day ensuring adequate protein (approx 1gm per lb target bodyweight), essential fats from fish and seeds and a good supply of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants from fresh fruit and vegetables. (don’t forget good clean water).
Just as important is plenty of sleep and rest. Muscles don’t grow in the gym or the dining table. They grow in your bed. The gym and dining table are the catlysts for growth but without a good nights sleep it is wasted.
So, don’t leave any pieces out. Train, Eat, Sleep and have plenty fun.

News and Views.

Hi Guys.
Just thought I would give you an update on what’s new in bodyindesign and AST.

The Mike Williams Classic show was fantastic, bodyindesign as a team, again did awesome, with many more of us now heading into the finals.

The stand was a success also. What with AST products and my new DVD -Old School, we did very well. I met some great people and had just one of those mega days you never forget.

Talking of the DVD– AST will be stocking it soon and it will be available through thier sites.
I have it on my site - now - and in the next few weeks it will be in all the major supplement outlets in the country.

Looking forward to a great new year, with many plans and goals and also helping others attain thiers.
I am proud to be with AST, I thank them deep down for helping me– help others.
The clients I train have made amazing transformations and each and every one of them has used AST.
Have an ace day Love Ian.
